Non-Invasive Cardiac Services
MDM has specialized in this particular type of billing for over six years and has collected over $26,500,000 for our clients during this time. The three biggest billing categories in this specialty are; Holter Monitoring, Cardiac Event Monitoring, and Remote Pacemaker Monitoring.
Holter Monitoring
Holter monitoring is the most common type of ambulatory cardiac monitoring. During a Holter test, the patient is provided with a small monitor, typically worn like a pager, with lead wires attached to their chest. The monitor will record the patient's heartbeat activity for 24 hours, after which they return to the physician's office and the recorded data is downloaded into PC-based software and analyzed. MDM provides Holter Monitoring billing services to over 27,000 patients annually throughout the United States.
Cardiac Event Monitoring
Cardiac Event Monitoring is used to determine the cause of such symptoms as dizziness, shortness of breath, palpitations, fainting spells and chest pain. Unlike a Holter test, which records every heartbeat for a 24-hour period, the event monitor is worn by the patient for up to 30 days. On a monthly basis, MDM bills over 1,600 various types of event recordings.
Remote Pacemaker Monitoring
Since early 2000, MDM has provided billing and accounts receivable management services for over 125,000 annual remote trans-telephonic pacemaker monitoring encounters. This service supplements periodic visits to the physician's office and enables early detection of device-related issues - such as failure to sense and capture, and atrial tachyarrhythmias that necessitate a change of pacemaker mode. Remote pacemaker monitoring maximizes staff time, assists in the management of increased patient volume and enhances patient care.
ICD Monitoring
MDM now offers billing and account receivable management services for the remote ICD monitoring for patients with implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs).
Physician Billing and Accounts Receivable Services
Since 1989 MDM has been a leader in physician billing. As a full service medical billing company, we maintain that all great cash collections begin with the three C’s.
