LEIGH SHERWOOD , Senior Vice President
Leigh brings sixteen years of intense experience in operational management of healthcare billing and claims adjudication. Since March of 2003, Leigh has been responsible for all aspects of the Company’s overall operations.
Just prior to joining Halifax/MDM, Leigh was the Corporate Director of Reimbursement with Davita Inc., with responsibility of over $768 million in annual accounts receivable. Leading a staff of over 120 employees, she reduced employee turnover by 42% while decreasing the days sales outstanding by 76 days within 12 months. Her responsibilities also included the implementation of various electronic billing programs and the integration of various acquired entities.
Previously, Leigh held key supervisory positions with Southern Health Systems in Tennessee, and was an account representative with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Richmond Virginia.
DIANNE BREININGER, Executive Director of Neuroscience Services
Dianne brings over 23 years of diverse experience with Computer Network Technologies (CNT), a publicly traded company with revenue of approximately $4 billion annually. In various positions during her career, Dianne was responsible for over $350M in accounts receivable. This also included the Canadian subsidiary. Additionally, Dianne traveled throughout Europe, training and overseeing various accounting functions for CNT.
Throughout her career as an Accounting Manger, Dianne was also responsible for general ledger, monthly balance sheet account analysis, financial statements, cash receipts, accounts payable and internal control functions. She also played an important role in the integration and compliance of GAAP processes during various mergers.
Dianne has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Rowan University in Glassboro New Jersey.
STEPHEN G. MURPHY, CPA, Senior Vice President, CFO
Steve has held senior positions in healthcare since 1977. He has been the Chief Financial Officer of Halifax since it was founded in May of 1996. Steve was the Chief Financial Officer for California Pacific Medical Center, a 1,000-bed hospital and Physician Network in San Francisco.
Before 1993, Steve was the Senior Vice President for Finance (CFO) at Brandywine Hospital and Trauma Center for 16 years. He was responsible for directing the departments of finance, accounting, management information systems, communications, registration, admissions, and materials management
Steve was with Arthur Andersen & Co. from 1962 through 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri and Washington, DC. Steve is a Certified Public Accountant.
PAUL L. VIENS, President and CEO
Throughout his 23 years in healthcare, Paul has held senior level positions with major healthcare networks. Paul spearheaded the planning, development and operation of the primary care network for the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, the parent organization of a 1,000 bed, $375 million healthcare system. His experience in acquisitions, mergers, affiliations, recruitment, and joint ventures is significant.
Prior to 1993, Paul was Executive Director for Brandywine Health Services, the parent organization of a $120 million healthcare system. His responsibilities ranged from the operation of a hospital based billing division, the development of a 43,000 square foot Health Pavilion, a free standing surgery center, and managed over 133,000 square feet of Medical Office Space. Additionally, Paul has over ten years of aeromedical helicopter experience.
Paul served as Regional Vice President for the international division of a medical products company and spent six years with a Fortune 200 Corporation.
Paul has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing (1977) from Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and an MBA in Finance (1982) from LaSalle College in Philadelphia.
